I haven’t had a candy bar in ages.. since i was diagnosed actually.. i just looked up the glycemic index and glycemic load online and they’re pretty low. does this mean i can eat it?

    As long as you include the total carbohydrate content in your daily plan, sure you can. But why? We diabetics fare much better when sticking to natural foods. Learning to eat to live instead of living to eat was one of the best choices in life that I ever made.

    You can eat it, just factor it into your day. My mom, who has type 1 diabetes, drinks Coke a lot, she just makes certain that she adjusts her insulin intake when she does, and she makes adjustments in the rest of her diet for the day.
